YO RU NO SHIJIMA

　

Shijima, driven by the flaming sunset,  rushed into the forest.

The forest sucked up all light and it was truly dark.

　

　

〈She was overpowered by the darkness for a while〉

　

　

Then, out of the trees, a tiger with the sharp eyes appeared.

Shijima imagined herself being eaten and put to death.

　

　

〈anxiety, fear, regrets,  the afterlife〉

　

　

The tiger opened his mouth and said “All things are connected”.

It was a gentle voice contrary to the sharp eyes.

　

After the tiger turned his back and walked away, the still of the night covered all around.

　

　

It happened one hot day.

　

　

　

　

　

　

よるのしじま

　

しじまは、燃えるような夕焼けに駆り立てられるように、森へと急いだ。

森は光を吸収し、真っ黒だった。

　

〈闇にしばしうちのめされる〉

　

すると、木々の奥から、鋭い目をした虎が表れた。

しじまは、食べられて死ぬ自分を想像した。

　

〈不安、恐怖、後悔、あの世〉

　

虎は口を開き　“全部つながっているんだ”　と言った。

鋭い目とは裏腹の、やさしい声だった。

　

虎がきびすを返して歩き去ったあと、あたりは夜の静寂に包み込まれた。

　

熱を帯びたある日の出来事である。
